As soon as September hit, I was inspired by the slight chill in the air to knit pumpkins! They came together quickly and it was super fun to think of colors and designs to make them with. I even ran out of yarn making them! It's now on my to-do list to stop at a thrift store to pick up some more yarn. I never know what colors they are going to have, but I always seem to luck out!
The process started off by knitting on my Sentro circle knitting machine. I just kept knitting until it seemed like a good place to stop. There is always trial and error in my work, but that is how I love to do it. Plus, mistakes inspire me! So the more the merrier. I knitted about 70 rows, then cast off. I used extra yarn to tie around the pumpkin to make the indents on the sides, rather than being perfectly round. Then, I crocheted a stem and a curly vine. If you give it a try, I would love to see how it turns out! Tag me!
I'm considering putting a few up for sale on Esty. What do you think? 🎃
